This was the 4the breast pump Ive used and is by far the best one for money I have come across . It does rely on mains power but it is more superior in suction because of that .
I have has trouble with breast feeding both my babies and the first time round I used a very well knowen and widely talked about branded pump which really didnt work as I had hoped . It was slow , noisey , hard to clean and frustrating to use . This time round after using 2 others at hospital I was told to use the spectra. It is a value for money breast pump and certainly helped me establish and keep a supply till I could figure out the breast feeding bisso 6 weeks after Id had the baby . Definately worth every cent !

Question
Sam –
Can I get this with the 20mm breast shield instead of the 24mm beast shield? I have a dew and use the 20mm breast shields . Thanks! Sam

Admin Spectra Team –
Hi Sam, thanks for checking in about this.
All our pumps come with 24mm shields in the milk collection kits that are sealed so we cannot change the size I am afraid.
You can grab the 20mm shields separately though, or use the shields you have used with your Dew 350 as they will work with the S2.
Feel free to message us at [email protected] if we can help with anything else.

Brenna –
After a lot of research and recommendations from friends, I decided to purchase the Spectra s2. Love how efficient it is, easy to use and quiet! I’d definitely recommend to anyone who will be doing either a little or a lot of expressing.

Hi i was given this pump from my sister pre loved. Its in excellent condition but i need to buy all the tubing and things that touch the milk. Where can i get only these without buying the pump itself?

Admin Spectra Team –
Hi Amy – thanks for your question. 🙂
When using a second-hand Spectra pump or preparing for a new bub, we recommend buying new shield sets. This is not just for hygiene reasons, but also to help you know how old your parts are and when they will be due for replacement.
To double pump, you will need 2 shield sets, which you can grab at the below link.
Shield Sets
You will also need some bottles to express into, as they’re not included in the shield set. We have those here:
Bottles
We’ve also written a blog post that may help you understand a bit more about what to pay attention to when using a second hand pump. You can have a read at the link below.

Have a good week.

Question
Sarah –
Can you use it for single pumping as well?
Say you’ve just fed bub on one boob, and wanted to single pump the other. Just so both have been relieved at the same/similar time.
Can you change it from being a double to a single? I know on Medela you just disconnect one bottle & push the uninformed into the middle part to allow for it.

Admin Spectra Team –
Hi Sarah, thanks for your question. 🙂
You can use your double pump as a single of double pump. 🙂
You just need to place the nozzle cover over the nozzle you are not using to single pump.
If we can help with anything else, please send us a message to [email protected]
Have a good weekend.

Kacey –
I had such high hopes for this pump as everyone was recommending it. I had used the Medela in hospital for several weeks so I’m aware of the differences. The pump itself is great – the light and timer are fantastic. But the tubing is annoyingly short – I feel very restricted when double pumping. And the bottles are painful – there’s no coloured marks on the bottle to be able to see how much milk is in them which is frustrating and the coloured logos have worn off after a few washes! I had to buy another set of spectra bottles because my wide neck pigeon bottles aren’t compatible – an unfortunate expense in my opinion. I have done 3 orders from spectra now for parts etc and only once did the package arrive as expected – twice I placed orders before lunch which is supposed to be sent that afternoon, but that was definitely not the case!

Hi, my friend recommends this product to me, I was wondering if there is any sale going on at the moment?

Sarah –
I really with the tubing had a different connection plug to the machine, I’ve had so many problems and I haven’t touched it and yet it’s moved and when I’m pumping the machine has made this off noise like air is getting through. You spend quiet alot just to be told in 3 months you need to change the part and then in another 6 months you have to change another. I should of spent a bit more and gotten a medela.

Question
Anna Davidson –
I note that it is mains only power. Does it charge up on mains so you can then take it out if needed and use it away from mains- or does it need to be connected all the time?

Admin Spectra Team –
Hi Anna 🙂
Unfortunately the S2 does need to be connected to the mains at all times 🙁 The S1 is a portable version of the S2, and has all the same great features but with a rechargeable battery so can be used as a portable pump 🙂
